It’s any Internet user’s dream to be able to find everything they want on the front page of Google. Well, Google is trying to make that dream into a reality with their new algorithm they’re calling the Google Panda 4.0 update. It targets websites who lack original content, are filled with spam and are generally low quality, which is a great thing for users, but begs the question, “does my website fall into that category?”

Taking a look at who’s been effected may help. Those hit the hardest are sites like ask.com, eBay, biography.com, retailmenot and starpulse.com. Though eBay may come as a surprise, some of the other sites are perceived as lower quality by some and can have quite a bit of spam on them.

So what to do? Be original and professional: diversify your tactics, create original content, share it socially, don’t over-optimize, and remove duplicate content.
