With the advent of social media and digitization, sometimes print campaigns just don’t get the tender loving care and thought that they used to. However, these campaigns still play a pivotal role for marketing. In fact, a 2010 study found that for every $1.00 spent in print advertising there was an average sales return of $12.57. In all areas of business. When marketers decide to use print advertisements, they are substantially rewarded for their creativity.

That’s why we decided to highlight some of the best print campaigns that were created in the last couple of years.

1. UNEP

UNEP cleverly uses Photoshop to create this one of a kind advertisement. The colors play between two images, melting icicles, and the New York skyline. It is a powerful advertisement that shows that if we lost the ice, we will also lose some of our favorite skylines.

2. Mebucaine

glass pineapple mebucaine print campaign

Okay we’ve all felt this, the pain that comes with a sore throat. This image instantly evokes the memory of a time of sickness where every swallow felt like shards of glass running down the throat. Mebuccaine uses the best design rules to position itself as the number one pain reliever. We think they did a pretty good job on this ad.

3. Lego

We love this ad! Lego plays to our inner child. What goes through a child’s imagination when they play with Legos? Sometimes a couple of blocks are a tank, other times they are horses. Either way Legos empowers children to broaden their imagination.

4. Whiskas

Whiskas uses a playful and fun print campaign with the series of shots that feature a cat chasing down an antelope. The tagline, “Feeding your cat’s instincts,” helps pull the message together. For all the cat lovers out there, this ad hits the spot.

5. Bic

What does a broken teapot have to do with Bic, the pens and pencil company? Bic used this ad to advertise on of their lesser known products, Bic Bond, a superglue. This ad was coupled with an image of Bic Bond and the tagline, “Whatever life breaks up, Bic Bond fixes.” We love the playfulness and personality that this ad shows. Well done Bic.

6. Moms Demand Action

Moms Demand Action print campaigns

This advertisement isn’t quite as fun as the ones before it. It comes from an organization called Moms Demand Action. It is a nonprofit that seeks to have better gun safety in America. However, the seriousness in this series of print ads certainly caught our attention.

7. Sanzer

Sanzer dirty finger print campaigns

At first glance these are the words that come to mind, gross, eww, and yuck. The image however, is quite clever and creates a powerful message. Do we really know what our hands are touching? Sanzer did a great job providing the solution to an uncomfortable image. The detail on this print marketing campaign is fantastic, but we understand if you don’t want to look at it for too long.

8. Pizza & Love

This print campaign is great and needs little explanation. The colors and design draw you in. The focus on the green nature of the company appeals to expanding consumer desire for socially responsible companies.

9. Play-Doh

This Play-Doh ad goes along with the Lego ad. It plays to the imagination and shows just how many uses Play-Doh has. Its simple design and colors highlight the product and the benefits that it gives.

10. Bosch

Lastly, there is Bosch. This advertisement uses a fun design technique to show the power behind their drills. Although we probably wouldn’t want this to happen to our walls, we think it was a new and unique way to show off a tool that sometimes isn’t very exciting.
