We had a great day of golfing at yesterday’s Utah Golf Marathon. Despite the wind that picked up in the afternoon, the event went off without a hitch and everyone enjoyed lots of golf and food.

Six years ago, the Utah Golf Marathon began as a fundraiser for The Crandall Printing Museum. When Alexander’s took over the fundraiser last year, we looked to help communities or individuals in need. This year, Alexander’s raised over $18,000 for the Utah Valley University Men’s Basketball Team scholarship fund.

After participants finished their 54 holes of golf, everyone gathered in the clubhouse for dinner and an auction. Dick Hunsaker, the UVU men’s basketball coach, stopped by to thank the golfers for their support. As coach Hunsaker pointed out, Utah Valley University relies on members of the community for financial support for their athletic programs. With the money raised from the event, more students will be able to enroll in year-round courses at the university. Hunsaker thanked everyone for their contributions on behalf of the team and the school.

During dinner, Jeff Alexander presented prizes to golfers and auctioned off various items. We’d like to congratulate Ben Aguayo, who took 1st place in overall scoring. At the event’s conclusion, Alexander’s held a drawing where every golfer left with prize items from various local businesses.

Alexander’s would like to thank everyone who participated in and donated to the event. We’d especially like to thank Colorado Printing Company, Sierra-West Jewelers, KT Tape, The Links at Sleepy Ridge, The Utah Blaze, Utah Valley University and Wing Industries.
