Last month, our friends at Utah Valley University needed some help creating some printed elements for the Utah Valley Business & Economic Forum. Jason Stucki, one of UVU’s full-time graphic designers and marketers, was charged with creating a brochure that would attract and engage the attention of forum attendees and potential UVU donors. He knew that this piece of marketing collateral would have to be creatively designed if he wanted it to engage and impress forum attendees.

After a brainstorm session with his team, Jason met with the sales and marketing consultants at Alexander’s to discuss design options, paper and logistics for creating a very cool, different printed piece. Together we reviewed the various printing capabilities and work we had created for other clients. One cleverly folded printed brochure sparked Jason’s interest and gave him the idea to create a special, folded brochure for the event in the shape of Utah.

After a few iterations of the brochure, the final product became a Utah-shaped, fan-folded brochure with plenty of information presented in a stand-out design. The brochure was able to stand upright at each attendee’s place setting, attracting attention from the get-go.

The brochure was printed on a matte cover stock, die cut and folded to create the final product. With such a dynamic printed piece of marketing collateral, Jason’s team managed to attract the attention and interest of Utah Valley’s business leaders while positioning Utah Valley University in a unique, creative way.
