What is a Vehicle Wrap or Vehicle Decal?

Vehicle wraps are vinyl applications that encase your car, covering the top layer of paint (without damaging it, might we emphasize), much like wrapping up a gift.

If you’re interested in decorating your vehicle, but are looking for an accent decal rather than a full wrap, we do that too! Vehicle decals are great for logos and other design elements. The process for both a vehicle wrap and a vehicle decal is the same.

Let’s Get Started!

We work with the client to design their dream vehicle. The design for your vehicle can come from you, or we can create a custom design just for you or your business. The design is then put into a model template that matches the make and model of your vehicle to ensure the right fit. We have access to templates for hundreds of makes and models. Vehicle wraps are one of our specialties.

Print and Application

After the design is tested for quality and approved by the client, we print the design on vinyl perfectly suitable for the great outdoors (and designed to look just like a glossy paint finish). Typically, wraps and decals will last five years.

Next, after the car has been cleaned and properly dried, we professionally install the wrap in our warehouse to prevent the risk of grime or dust interrupting the installation process. If the vinyl gets too dirty or wet or cold, the vinyl won’t stick. If it’s too hot, the vinyl could bubble and warp. By working indoors, we maintain the right, controlled environment to make sure your vehicle looks great from start to finish.

For vehicle wraps made to completely encase the vehicle, the vinyl must be printed in several different overlapping pieces. We line these up and apply the vinyl to the vehicle or trailer using a hand-squeegee to prevent wrinkles or air bubbles. We also use gentle amounts of heat to avoid “tenting,” which is when the vinyl stands up in curved areas where it should be lying down. This process creates that smooth, professional finish.

Hand trimming the vinyl around corners, door handles, mirrors, wheel wells, and molding means your vinyl will fit your car just the way you need it to. Full vehicle wraps still allow access to the trunk, hood, doors, and all areas of your car that require upkeep and general services. Vehicle wraps mean no hassle on your end, and work just like a new coat of paint.

That’s a Wrap Up!

Once it’s finished, your car is ready to go! If, in the future, you decide to change your design, our vinyl can be removed from your vehicle without leaving sticky residue or damaging your paint.

It was interesting to read how auto wraps are created and applied! In my mind using an auto wrap is a great way for a company to look professional while advertising themselves at the same time. You mentioned in your post that they are also easy to remove from you car if you want to change the design you have, and that you can do so without leaving any sticky residue. I don’t think that there’s a downside to using an auto wrap! Great post, thank you for the information!

Having a vehicle wrap on your car gives off a really powerful sense of professionalism. It looks seamless and smooth on any vehicle. I’d recommend anyone who wants to advertise their business to check out getting a vehicle wrap.

I don’t think there is a better way of getting your business name out there other than having a commercial on tv. Decals of your logo will be seen by everyone you drive next to or even those who drive past your parked car. It is a simple way to get clients. Thank you for the article.

Auto wraps are such an underrated form of marketing, thanks for sharing!

  • I like that vehicle wraps offer a way to use your vehicle without damaging it at all. I also like that they can be removed at any time. The fact that you can put any design and style on your can with a vehicle wrap gives a great advantage to people looking to put a custom design on their car for advertising reasons. Also I like how it is a fairly quick process.
