Banner typesThis week we’ve been helping one of our clients, Brigham Young University, with a campaign that requires banners and large-format signage.

Large-format print is a big part of our business. Whether we’re printing for a client who’s opening up a new franchise, or someone who is re-branding, we do lots of banners.

For this recent project we did a few hanging banners. Some were the standard rectangular long banners, but a few were in a style called burgee. We want our customers to know that when you order banners or signage, you aren’t limited to the shape the vinyl or nylon typically comes in. Below are three banner shapes we can design and print for customers.

Pennant Banners

Pennant banners are most easily described as triangular flag like banners. You may see these printed with University names and logos, or hanging from a garland. We can print long and short pennant banners, with grommets for easy hanging and installation.

Guidon Banners

A Guidon banner is similar to a standard rectangular banner, but it has a triangular portion removed from the fly, or the bottom portion of the banner. Some people refer to this cut type as “swallow-tailed.”

Burgee Banners

Burgee banners are almost exactly the same as Guidon banners but they are more triangular in shape; think pennant banner with a swallow-tail.

At Alexander’s we can print vinyl or polyester banners in many different shapes and sizes, single-sided or double-sided. Not only that, we can match any color. You aren’t just limited to vinyl banners, either. We also provide nylon printed flags and banners.
