Tell us if you’ve heard printing horror stories similar to this one:
An event coordinator is racing to get everything in place before their guests arrive. They pick up a huge order of banners and posters to display around the venue, but when they unroll their decorations…all of them are the wrong size!!!
Frightening, isn’t it?
At Alexander’s we don’t ever want our clients to experience the horror of poor printing, which is why we take a unique approach with each new project.
Large print projects are particularly susceptible to size issues, but we avoid the risks by taking special precautions like printing a prototype.
Why print a prototype?
Sometimes important details don’t translate seamlessly when printing a large print piece. The design you have on file might not be what you expected once viewed in reality. By printing a scaled down version of your piece first, you are able to understand the logistics of your piece and how it will function in the physical world.
Girl empowerment organization Girls On The Run recently printed a huge, falcon board archway for a race finish line. Since the archway would have to be printed and delivered in multiple pieces, we printed a prototype to better understand how this piece would be assembled.
This 10 inch model let us know which obstacles we might face when printing the final 10 foot tall arch, and what challenges Girls On The Run might deal with when assembling it on race day.
Thanks to the prototype, Girls On The Run could print the final product with confidence that it would stand tall at the finish line.
