It’s hard to believe summer is winding down and it’s time to prep your kids for back to school. We know this time of year can be stressful as you rush around gathering supplies and finishing up all those summer to-dos that got away from you, so we’ve compiled a list of a few printed items that will make the transition from pool to school a little easier for your child.

1. Personalized Notebooks

Sure, you can always pick up a plain 3-subject notebook, or you can add some fun to your kid’s supplies with a personalized notebook. Design something yourself or let your child draw and design the notebook cover themselves. Then, take the design to your local printer to help you create a few fun notebooks or journals for your child’s new school year.

2. Custom Stickers

You may think your kid doesn’t really need their own personalized name labels, but how often does your child misplace their pens, lunchbox, folders, etc.? Names stickers are a great way to help your child get excited about labelling personal items in the classroom, preventing you from having to replace that lunchbox every few months. Don’t just give your kids any old white label that takes seconds to print with your desktop printer; spend a little time finding a fun background or design they’ll like so they’ll be sure to use these stickers on all their newly purchased or created back to school supplies.

3. Planners

As your kids enter junior high or high school, they’ll likely need a planner to help them map out their class schedule and homework assignments. As with notebooks, generic planners might work, but your child is much more likely to get excited about using something that’s personalized. While designing your own planner would be pretty time-intensive, you could pick up a planner that would work, and have your local printing company print a personalized planner cover. If you purchase a wire-bound planner, your printer should be able to remove the store-bought planner cover and re-wire the planner with the new, personalized cover. If your planner is perfect bound, a custom cover printed on adhesive backed paper can lay right on top of the generic cover.

4. Locker Magnets

Kids are always looking for ways to decorate their locker. Why not let them print a sheet of their favorite summer photos, or a few magnets with their favorite author quotes? Ask your printer if they have the ability to print digitally print on magnetic sheets. You should be able to create just about any size of photo magnet. Finding ways to get your kids involved in their back to school prep may help them be a little more excited about going back to school and give all of you something to do during the last listless days of summer. Let us know if we can help you and your kids prepare for back to school.
