A brief history of print [infographic]

Today we’re sharing a print infographic from Uprinting.com that highlights instances of printing throughout history. To define printing in its earliest stages isn’t exactly easy, so it’s hard to pinpoint when exactly printing began. Today, printing is much more than transferring images, color or text onto a substrate. We can do so much more with print technology nowadays! This includes printing on almost any substrate, using metallic ink or managing variable data at high speed printing rates.

Undoubtedly, various techniques that Alexander’s still employs today date back hundreds of years. And that doesn’t include the creation of all the materials we use. For instance, the creation of paper can be traced as far back as A.D. 105, and butterfly binding was invented sometime around A.D. 1000.
