With Earth Day coming up, we’d like to share an infographic from Two Sides that illustrates ways the paper and printing industry help to conserve energy and protect our environment. The printing industry gets a lot of flak for harming the environment and depleting natural resources, but we want the world to know, that those myths aren’t all true.
We’re under no pretense that wasted paper products are good for the environment, but many people wrongly assume that paperless business methods help the environment. In actuality, digital and electronic devices deplete far more energy and create copious amounts of unmanageable e-waste, harming the environment in a much more substantial manner than creating and using paper. Undoubtedly creation of paper depletes trees, but electronic devices require the mining and refining of dozens of minerals and metals, as well as other non-renewable resources.
It’s important to realize that responsible people work to conserve energy by recycling and eliminating paper waste as well as monitoring their usage of energy through electronic usage.
