Between the exhibitor fees, airline flights, hotels, meals and everything else, trade shows can be very expensive. But they’re also an effective way to generate new business.
Over the years, we’ve created a lot of trade show displays and booths for customers who have large spaces they want to fill with an impressive booth. However, sometimes the logistics of shipping and assembling a large booth discourage customers from creating the booth they really want.
At Alexander’s we’ve developed a solution to provide customers with the trade show impact they really want. It’s an easy-to-assemble, disposable trade show booth built out of sturdy cardboard called falcon board. It usually ships in a relatively flat box that’s 4-feet wide and 8-feet tall. We call it our booth-in-a-box trade show booth.
The Alexander’s booth-in-a-box solution means trade show exhibitors have more time to explore and experience the city instead of hassling with complicated, time consuming booth set-up and take-down.
Creating a large trade show display from smaller, portable pieces provides significant shipping and handling cost savings. Does anyone like paying trade show union handling fees? It also allows exhibitors to easily assemble the display themselves, quickly and easily, right there on the trade show floor.
Once the booth has served its purpose, disposing of the recyclable cardboard display on-site means exhibitors (again) don’t have to pay expensive shipping and handling fees. They just walk away while everyone else spends hours taking down and packing up their exhibits.
With affordable and competitive prices on printing, our disposable booth-in-a-box solution has made exhibiting a breeze for countless customers at various trade shows and events. Plus, the display is different from almost anything else, so that alone helps you really stand out in the crowd.

A Booth-in-a-Box Case Study
Recently, we received an inquiry about an upcoming show. The customer had reserved a whopping 60-feet of booth space at Chicago’s McCormick Place and needed to fill the entire area with a 14’ tall, impressive display, and they needed it to arrive on-site in just one week’s time.
They weren’t having much luck with traditional exhibition display solutions. They found our booth-in-a-box solution online and reached out. We were happy to help.
Our design, wide-format and customer service rep teams quickly went to work to create a multi-dimensional falcon board booth, measuring 60 feet wide and 8 feet tall, with the center section going up an impressive 14 feet.
The falcon board material and design construction allowed the customer to assemble the 4-by-8 sheets and various pieces spanning 60-feet right out of the box and stand up the display. Next, they mounted several large LED displays through holes in the falcon board to solid metal stands in the back.
At the end of the show, they simply disconnected the LEDs, packed up and walked away. They left the cardboard that was their display to be recycled, saving hundreds of dollars in return shipping, not to mention the ongoing costs for storage of the large display.
After the show we received this email from the customer:
“The booth was fantastic! It created a lot of attention and many attendees stopped and spent time in our booth. Our partners were very pleased with the ability of the booth to attract customers and help with the overall success of our show, and we were very pleased with how quickly Alexander’s was able to deliver the booth. We plan to use you for more printing needs in the future.” — Tim Marland, Marland MicroSolutions, Inc.
