It’s no secret, we’re sports fans here at Alexander’s. Over the years we’ve worked closely with the BYU football team to create banners for the stadium, life size cut outs of the players; we even outfitted the Cosmobile. So when they told us about the BYU50 marketing campaign, we knew this would be another chance to have some fun.
BYU50 is like a game of hide-and-seek…but it’s played across all 50 states. The game began on July 17 in Alabama. BYU representatives placed a box in a random location in the state, and through social media, gave people clues on where to find it. People used their own social media channels to follow the clues, and the first person to touch the box won the contents inside: BYU swag, tickets, gift cards, and more.
The promotion has spread across the country and is scheduled to debut in several countries across the world leading up to BYU’s season opener at Nebraska on September 5. By the end of the promotion, BYU will give away about 130 boxes.
Watching BYU50 work its way across the nation and the world is particularly exciting for us because the whole thing started right here at Alexander’s.
